    UTILIZATION OF RUBBER SEED FLOUR AS MAIN FOOD OF MYSTUS NEMURUS

    The research was conducted in April until June 2012. The aim of the researchwas to determine the benefits of the provision of rubber seed flour as a substitute soybean meal of Mystus nemurus. The methods used in this study was an experimental method and RAL one factor with stocking density 5 treatments. The baung fish used in this research with size 3-5 cm in length and 1,32 - 1,33 g in weight. Concentration addition of rubber seed flour from soybean meal given is 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100%. The addition of rubber seed flour and other ingredients for the manufacture of fish feed is formulated to obtain the protein content of 30%. This study was conducted for 56 days to determine daily growth rate, feed efficiency, and survival of fish. The result is the replacement of the soybean meal with a rubber seed flour had its intended effect (P<0.05) in daily growth rate, feed efficiency, and retention of the protein but had no effect on fish survival (P> 0.05). The best result is to be found in the provision of 75% rubber seed flour yield 3.15% daily growth rate, feed efficiency of 34.09%, and 33.81% protein retention.
