    Distribution of Starfish (Asteroidea sp) on the Island waters Poncan Gadang Sibolga North Sumatra

    A study on the distribution of starfish (asteroidea sp) were carried on sibolga in October 2012. There sampling site were established with different activities of harbor site, pole, and coral reef ecosystem. apparausly three spesies of starfish were inhabid the poncan island namely 1) Asterias Forbesi, 2) Echinarachnius Parma, 3) Ophiuridea Bervispinum those spesies belongs to two genus (Asterias, Ophiuroidea) and of one family (Asteriidae). It revealed that higest density fauna arround coral reef ecosystem (station III) which are 57 ind/m2, other station were are 43 ind/m2 and 46 ind/m2. It calculated that the Morisita index was >1, suggested the distribution pattern starfish was aggregaded.
