    RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LECTURES AND STUDENTS IN UNIVERSITY OF RIAU INDONESIA

    this study aims to reveal the extent of the relationship of lectures and students as subjects of teaching. Relationship tetween them has an important role in improving the quality of education. Surveys conducted in University of Riau lndonesia with a total sample of 387 students were drarvn randomly from each faculty to give their vielvs on the relationship of lecturers and students in a university environment. Results showed students generally hold the view that the relationship of lecturers and students are at a medium level. The results oft test analysis based on gender and field ofstudy found that there is no difference in student perceptions trased on gender (men and women), based on the field ofstudy (science and social science). It can be concluded that the relationship of lecturers and students is still limited to teachers and learners in the classroom teaching. The relationship of lecturers and students should not only be linrited to the classroom learning environment, but also in universities' environment'
