    EFEK ANTIPIRETIK EKSTRAK ETANOL AKAR ILALANG (Imperata cylindrical (L.) beauv.) PADA MENCIT JANTAN (Mus musculus) YANG DI INDUKSI VAKSIN DPT

    Ilalang root is one of traditional medicine that often being used by citizen of Indonesia to cure fever, cough, as diuretics and etc. The purpose of this research is to prove the effect of antipyretic of Etanol extract of Ilalang root to male mice which are induced by DPT vaccine. Twenty five of Male mices are separated into 5 groups, they are negative control group which is given Aquades 0,3ml/20grbb, positive control which is given paracetamol 6 mg/20grbb and a group which is given etanol extract of Ilalang root dosed 100%, 50%, 25%. Taking the temperature of mice’s rectals was done before and after being induced by DPT vaccine at intervals 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 hours. At time of 12 was given action. Antipyretic is successful if the mice’s rectals temperature are the same or higher than the rectal’s temperature of positive control group. The result of this research shows that ilalang root give higher antipyretic effect than paracetamol effect. The conclusion of this research is etanol extract of ilalang root has antipyretic effect.
