DESAIN DAN EKSPERIMEN BALL MILLING UNTUK SINTESIS PARTIKEL MAGNETIK PASIR BESI
    (2020-10) sukma, Amisa; Erwin, A
Ball Milling is a tool that plays an important role in synthesizing magnetic nanoparticles from natural sand. The purpose of this research is to design and do the experiment of a Ball Milling machine. Our effort in this research is to minimize the cost of synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles by providing alternative machine. The advantages of this machine include simple, efficient and low cost production. In order to synthesis magnetic nanoparticles, then the natural was inserted into ball milling tube with several balls in it and rotates continuously. In the tube the balls will collide with each other. As a result of this ball collision, the sample that is inserted into ball milling tube is caught between the balls. The particles inside the ball milling tube break off so on until the particle size reaches the desired size. Testing of the Ball Milling machine was done using natural sand samples from the Arta beach Pariaman West Sumatera as function of milling time such as 10 hours, 20 hours, 30 hours and 4o hours using milling ball size of 1,5 cm. The magnetic properties studied were magnetic induction, magnetic susceptibility and mass susceptibility and magnetic degree. The results shown that increase in milling time decreased particle size of the sample and therefore, incease the value of magnetic susceptibility decrease the magnetic degree
