    THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SESAME OIL FOR THE PREVENTION OF PRESSURE ULCER IN PATIENTS WITH BED REST UNDERGOING HOSPITALIZATION

    This study aimed to analize the effectiveness of sesame oil for the prevention of pressure ulcer in patients with bed rest undergoing hospitaization. Method: This study used a randomized controlled trial design. The location of this research was Aji Batara Dewa Sakti Samboja Hospital (Indonesia). The sample was selected by consecutive sampling, the number of samples involved in the study was fourty samples were devided into control and intervention groups added a light massage (backrub) treatment using sesame oil. This study was analyzed by using Chi Square. Result: The results show that there is a significant difference between the two groups (p=0,04). Conclusion: Skin care with sesame oil can prevent the pressure ulcers. These results recommend that sesame oil can be used for nursing intervention for the prevention of pressure ulcers.
