    Persepsi Nelayan Terhadap Pelestarian Ikan Dan Terumbu Karang Di Pangandaran (Studi Kuantitatif Terhadap Perspektif Nelayan Pangandaran Tentang Pelestarian Ikan dan Terumbu Karang)

    Pangandaran is one of the popular tourist destinations in West Java. In this coastal area, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the sea, the potential of fish, as well as learning and recreation in Pangandaran nature reserve and now Pangandaran is projected to become one of the world's tourist destinations. Considering this project, the preservation of ecosystem in Pangandaran should become main priority. This research aims to find out how the perception of Pangandaran fishermen to the conservation of fish and coral reefs as an effort to save the ecosystem and projection of tourist destinations. The method used here is a qualitative method with in-depth interview technique conducted on 37 Pangandaran fishermen in 4 regions. The research shows that fishermen in East and West Coastal areas are very concerned about the sustainability of the ecosystems in these waters, so they feel obliged to participate in managing and conserving coral reefs so that the ecosystem is maintained and they will still benefit from the maintenance of coral reefs with the number of fish in these waters. While these fishermen feel the decline in catch results during the prolonged rainy season, bad weather, overfishing by fishermen from other areas, and also damage to coral reef ecosystems.
