SIMULASI PERGESERAN DISPERSI PADA SERAT OPTIK MODA TUNGGAL
(2016-05-23) Purnama, Mutia Dwi; Saktioto; Irawan, Dedi
A shift transmission in a single mode optical fiber by using standard optical fiber Corning® SMF-28e+® has been simulated. The parameters are refractive indices, core and cladding radii and wavelength. The core radii are varied from 1.1 μm – 5.1 μm. The method used in OptiFiber Software is to calculate the mode waveguide dispersion, material dispersion and total dispersion. The results showed that the core radius of 2.1 μm is located at the zero dispersion wavelength of 1.5748 μm. The spreading material on the wavelength of 1.55 μm has spread material increases when the core radius is smaller. The waveguide dispersion and total dispersion at wavelength of 1.55 μm have the lowest spread in the radius of 2.1 μm. This occurs because the number of signals entering the optical source in optical fiber core is large, so there would be a time difference light propagation radiating at the core and the cladding fiber.
