    HUBUNGAN KEBERADAAN PASANGAN HIDUP DENGAN HARGA DIRI PADA LANSIA

    The purpose of this research is to find out relationship between the presence of a spouse with self-esteem in the elderly. This research used descriptive correlative with cross sectional approach. Sample of this research taken using cluster sampling. This research’s sample composed of 121 elderly who live in South Tangkerang-Bukit Raya, Pekanbaru. Data were collected using Rosenberg self-esteem scale by Rosenberg (1995). Data then analyzed using chi-square with significance level of α 0,05. The results showed both group of the elderly who have a spouse 61 respondent (92.4%) and the elderly who do not have a spouse 54 people (81.8%) have high self-esteem (p value 0,137 > α 0,05). In conclusion, there is no relationship between the presence of a spouse with self-esteem in the elderly. Based on this research suggested the family to support the elderly to improve self-esteem for the elderly’s integrity.
