    HUBUNGAN STATUS KONSEP DIRI DENGAN KEJADIAN DEPRESI PADA LANSIA DI BALAI PELAYANANAN SOSIAL TRESNA WERDHA KHUSNUL KHOTIMAH PEKANBARU

    This study aimed to determine the correlation between self-concept and insidence of depression in elderly in Khusnul Khotimah Pekanbaru nursing home. The research method used descriptive correlation with cross-sectional approaches. The study was conducted in Khusnul Khotimah Pekanbaru nursing home on 37 elderly were taken with a total sampling. The instrument in this research divided in two parts, include self concept using a questionnaire designed by researcher and have the validity tested and reliability and the insidence of depression using the Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form defined by Yesavage. The analysis used was univariate using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using Chi-square. The results about self-concept showed that most of the elderly have a positive self concept were 23 elderly (62,2%). The results related to the insidence of d epression showed that the majority of elderly do not have depression were 28 elderly (75,5%). Based on the statistical tests (Chi-square) results, it is concluded that there is correlation between self concept and insidence of depression in elderly in Khusnul Khotimah Pekanbaru nursing home (p value 0,073 > α 0,05). Based on the result of this study, it is expected for the Khusnul Khotimah nursing home to improve services dan running benefit programs to reduce the insidence of depression in elderly in Khusnul Khotimah nursing home.
