    The purpose of the research is for increasing motivation and learning outcomes of biological science in VII class at SMP N 21 Pekanbaru, through using substance teachbase on CTL.The kind of this research is research of class action (ptk). Research was held on may until iune 2010.Subject of this research is the students of VII4 clss with 41 student, (22 men and 19 women), with parameter motivation and learning outcome. instrument is questioner and test. The average score of science biology student learning motivation prior to the use of CTL based instructional materials2.4(Iow), whereas after the use of CTL based teaching materials obtained an average score of 3.09 (high). Researchoutcome howed that learning completeness of students on first cycle is equal 82.9% with average70.43 increase on second cycle become 100% with average is equal 81.03 based on this research, we can conclude about using substance teach base on CTL can increase motivation and learning outcome of biological science in VII4 class at SMP N 21 pekanbaru scholl year 2009/2010

The average score of Science Biology student learning motivation prior to the use of CTL based instructional materials 2.14 (low), whereas after the use of CTL based teaching materials obtained an average score of 3.09 (high).Research outcome showed that learning completeness of students on first cycle is equal to 82,9% with average 70,43 increase on second cycle become 100% with average is equal 81,03. based on this research, we can conclude about using substance teach base on CTL can increase motivation and learning outcome of biological science in VII 4 class at SMP N 21 Pekanbaru school year 2009/2010.
