    ISOLASI DAN UJI PENGHAMBATAN α-GLUKOSIDASE METABOLIT SEKUNDER DARI EKSTRAK n-HEKSANA TUMBUHAN Peperomia pellucida

    Peperomia pellucida is one of species belongs to Piperaceae family which is widely distributed in Indonesia. This plant commonly is used as a traditional medicine by various tribes in Indonesia. Several species of Peperomia are reported have antidiabetic, antioxidant, antibacterial, and antiinflammatory. However, the antidiabetic activity from this plant rarely investigated. The extract and the pure compounds were tested for antidiabetic activity by α-glucosidase inhibitor assay. The inhibitory activity was assayed using microplate reader. The results with inhibition persentage values 0,832 % for n-hexane extract, -0,355 % for PP-H-03 and -1,102 % for PP-H-08. Based from the data the extract and isolated compound showing weak antidiabetic activity compared to positive control of acarbose.
