    STRUKTUR DAN REGENERASI VEGETASI MANGROVE DESA SUNGAI ASAM KECAMATAN RETEH INDRAGIRI HILIR

    Mangrove forest is an ecosystem found in tidal areas affecting other ecosystems in the area. If an ecosystem is damaged or disturbedthen surrounding ecosystem will be affected. Good management (rehabilitation) of mangrove forests will affect people’s income especially fishermen and pond farmers because the mangrove forest is one of the determinants of fish abudance or various other marine biota. Research on the structure and regeneration of mangrove vegetation has been carried out in the Sungai Asam village sub-district Reteh Indragiri Hilir regency in October to December 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the structure and regeneration of mangrove vegetation. Data was collected directly from the field then followed by data analysis. The method used is a survey method and determination of the transects point by purposive sampling. The study found five mangrove species namely Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera sexangula, Sonneratia alba, Avicennia alba and Nypa fruticans. The regeneration status of mangrove forests in Sungai Asam village is different namely it is classified categorized sufficient, low and newly regeneration
