The Influence of the Recirculation System with Media of Genjer Plants (Limnocharis flava) on the Growth and Survival Rate of Sepat Rawa (Trichogaster trichopterus)
    (2013-07-03) Muriansyah, Arif
The research was conducted from March 14 to April 28, 2013 for at UPT Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of the recirculation system with media Genjer plants (Limnocharis flava) on the growth and survival rate of sepat rawa (Trichogaster trichopterus). The method used was experimental method and RAL one factor with 3 level of treatments. Treatment is Po : without genjer plants, P1 : 5 rod of genjer plants / container, P2 : 10 rod of genjer plants / container and P3 : 15 rod of genjer plants / container. The best absolute growth rate was achieved by treatment P3 of 1.38 gram with Growth absolute weight, of 0.98 cm length of growth rate, of 0.54% daily growth rate and of 100 % survival rate. Water quality parameters recorded were: pH 5-6, DO 3.46 - 4.97 mg/l, ammonia (NH3) 0.01 - 0.09 mg/l, nitrite (NO2-) 0.08 - 2.00 mg/l, nitrate (NO3-) 1.97 - 2.96 mg/l and temperature 26-28 0C.
