    PENGARUH KONSEP DIRI TERHADAP PRESTASI AKADEMIK MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS RIAU TAHUN PERTAMA

    Self concept affects the individual's perspective. Perspective about themselves will affects academic achievement for student. This research analysed on the correlation of self concept on academic achievement of the first year of students Medical Faculty of Riau University. This research use analitycal methode with cross sectional approaching. The respondents is the students batch 2011 Medical Faculty of Riau University totalled 117 respondents. But only takes 106 responden the inclusion criteria. Respondents a total of 11 drop out because they do not answer all questions completely. Self concept is measured by self concept questionnaire modification Gordon and James Battle and Grade Point Average, which is reasured the academic achievement. The result of this research shows the low and non-significant the correlation self concept on academic achievement (r=0,153 and p=0,117). The conclusion there is no significant correlation that shows the positive correlation with very low point between the variable of self concept and academic achievement on first-year student Medical Faculty of University of Riau.
