    SINTESIS DAN UJI TOKSISITAS SENYAWA KALKON (E)-1-(2- HIDROKSIFENIL)-3-(4-METOKSIFENIL)PROP-2-EN-1-ON

    Chalcone of (E)-1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one has been synthesized by stirring 2’-hydroxyacetophenon with methoxybenzaldehide derivatives in polyethylene glycol (PEG-400) at room temperature according to Claisen-Schmidt condensation. In this research KOH is used as catalyst. The rendement obtained was 76% and the structure was confirmed by UV, IR, 1H-NMR and MS spectroscopy. The toxicity was evaluated by Brine Shirmp Lethality Test (BSLT) method againts larvae of Artemia salina Leach. The chalcone had good toxicity activity since its LC50 was 0.666 μg/m
