    ANALISA PENGARUH PENYAKIT FLU DAN BATUK TERHADAP SUARA PENDERITA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN KOMPUTER

    The study of the influence of flu and cough disease of men and women on their voice spectrum had been carried out. The sample voices were recorded by using a computer equipped with a software called “Praat” as a substitute for spectrum analyzer. The samples were selected for three boys and three girls at the age of 7-11, three females and three males at the age of 22-24 in the condition of normal and sick (flu and cough). There are three pieces of voices that has to be spoken by the sample, namely “Jurusan Fisika”, “Tetap Maju”, and “Selamat Sore”. In order to obtain a better result of the study, it is necessary for the sample to say the three pieces of voices in three times. The results show that the value of the fundamental frequency for the women is higher than that of the men either in normal (well) condition or unwell condition. The value of the fundamental frequency for children in unwell condition is around 276 Hz and 249 Hz for female and male respectively and for adult is 182 Hz for female and 143 for male. While the value of the fundamental frequency sample in the normal condition for children is 269 Hz for female and 252 Hz for male, for adult is 175 Hz for female and 130 Hz for male. The results also shows that the average value of format F1, F2, and F3 for males is higher compared to that for women in both conditions. Furthermore, the time duration for the three pieces of voices is longer for children compared to that for adult, while the time duration for the three pieces of voices for the samples in normal condition is shorter compared to that of unwell condition

    ANALISA SERAPAN LOGAM BERAT Fe PADA KARBON AKTIF YANG DICAMPURKAN DENGAN NANO Fe3O4 DAN POLYVINYLIDENE FLUORIDE (PVDF)

    The study on heavy metal absorption of active carbon added by Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) and Fe3O4 has been performed. The active carbon was applied in order to absorp heavy metal of Fe. The mixture of Fe3O4 and carbon powder provision started from the process of pre-carbonization at a temperature of 280oC in a vacuum. The process of ball milling and seaving resulted small carbon particles of 38 μm in diameter. The increase in surface area of the carbon has been achieved by chemical activation using the KOH activator with weight ratio of KOH and carbon powder of 4:1. The carbon powder that had been activated was then mixed to at ratio of 5:3. The mixing process was done by using a mortar and continued to ball miling process for 2 hours. The sample was carbonized at temperature of 850oC in N2 gas and then proceed to washing and drying proceses in order to produce uniform mixture of Fe3O4 and carbon powder. After that, the PVDF 5% was added to the sample. Absorption testing of heavy metal of Fe in Siak river water samples was performed by immersing it to the sample in 2 hours. Atomic absorption spectroscopy test results revealed that absorption percentage respectively of 34.71% without Fe3O4, 41.65% of the sample and 94.51% of the sample with PVDF. Characterization of x-ray diffraction showed the peak of Fe at 2θ = 44.55o of the carbon powder and 2θ = 44.76o of the sample with PVDF. Scanning electron microscopy with 150X magnification showed particle size with its length of 22.5 μm with by 30.14 μm of the carbon powder and a length of 51.1 μm with by 58.6 μm of the sample with PVDF . The figure of 1000X showed a whitish powder due to metal Fe that spreaded evenly on the surface of the samples. Energy diversive x-ray proved the present of metal Fe in carbon absorbent material with percentage of 0.24% of the carbon powder and 60.78% of the sample with PVD

    EFEKTIVITAS PENAMBAHAN TAWAS DAN LEMPUNG ALAM UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS AIR TANAH YANG TERCEMAR MENGGUNAKAN SARINGAN PASIR LAMBAT

    Improving the quality of groundwater with the addition of coagulation alum and clay of nature using slow sand filters has been carried out Analysis in this study was carried out based on the physical and chemical parameters namely conductivity, pH, ferrous metal (Fe), color / turbidity level of water, phosphate, nitrate and nitrite. Before filtrasion, the average sampel values of conductivity, pH, ferrous metal (Fe), color / turbidity level of water, phosphate, nitrate and nitrite were 557 μS/cm, 5,91 mg/l, 0,11 mg/l, 16,7 NTU, 0,0303 mg/l, 1,2 mg/l and 0,017 mg/l respectively. After filtration , the results showed that the average sample values of conductivity, pH, ferrous metal (Fe), color / turbidity level of water, phosphate, nitrate and nitrite are 489 μS / cm, 4.18 mg / l,.03 mg / l, 0, 3 0.01 mg / l, 1 mg / l and 0.017 mg / l respectively. The results of this study indicate that the slow sand filter method using alum and natural clay can be used to improve groundwater quality.

    IDENTIFIKASI AIR BAWAH TANAH MENGGUNAKAN METODE GEOLISTRIK KONFIGURASI WENNER-SCHLUMBERGER DAN GEOKIMIA DI DESA RIMBA PANJANG

    Groundwater identification in Gean De Green Housing, Rimba Panjang Village, has been carried out using geochemical and geoelectric methods of the Wenner- Schlumberger configuration. This study aims to identify aquifer layers, determine flow patterns and test the quality of groundwater. Measurements were made on two tracks with a length of 115 meters for each track. Based on the results of data processing, it is known that the groundwater aquifer is at a depth of up to 9,26 meters below the surface with a resistivity value (6,92 – 48,3) Ωm. It spreads from North to South and from East to West with a thickness of 8,01 meters. The lithology of the subsurface layers in the study area is a layer of sand and gravel, dry gravel, and sandstone. Testing the quality of groundwater in terms of pH parameters obtained an average value of 4,3 and iron metal content of 0,1774 mg/L. Overall, the results of the water quality test in the area of this study are not suitable for consumption because it is too acidic, but still safe and suitable for other purposes

    IDENTIFIKASI KEBERADAAN LINDI PADA TPA MUARA FAJAR MENGGUNAKAN METODE GEOLISTRIK KONFIGURASI SCHLUMBERGER

    TPA Muara Fajar is a final waste disposal site located at Muara Fajar, Pekanbaru City which uses an open dumping system. This system still has the potential to spread leachate to the area surround the TPA because this system does not fullfil the criteria of a TPA. This study aims to identify the depth of the subsurface structure around the Muara Fajar TPA area using the Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method and determine the quality of leachate using several parameters including pH, BOD, COD, and Kadmium. The resistivity value data was processed using Microsoft Exel Software. The process was continued with inversion using Progress Software v3.0 to determine the value of the layer depth at each measurement point. The measurement result for line 1 produces the resistivity value ranging from 1015,08 – 3, 61 ohm-meters and line 2 ranging from 734,09 – 8,65 ohm-meters.

    INTERPRETASI AIR BAWAH TANAH DENGAN METODE GEOLISTRIK KONFIGURASI SCHLUMBERGER DI PERUMAHAN MUTIARA TENAYAN RAYA KECAMATAN TENAYAN RAYA KOTA PEKANBARU

    Research to determine the flow patterns, potential and quality of community water wells in the housing area of Mutiara Tenayan Raya, Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru District, has been conducted. This study uses the Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method with two horizontal and vertical trajectories. Processing data using Software Progress to get the depth, thickness and number of rock layers of the resistivity value was obtained. Water quality testing uses a chemical method consisting of parameters pH, TDS (Total Disolved Solid), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), and the color of each sample of three pieces were taken at three different wells. The results of both Tracks show groundwater flowing from the first trajectories to the second trajectories. Groundwater potential in the second trajectories is greater than the first trajectories because the thickness of the second trajectories aquifer is greater than the first trajectories. Based on the results of laboratory tests, all three samples have acidic pH and the second and third samples are not suitable for use as drinking water.

    KARAKTERISTIK MORTAR PADA LIMBAH ABU KELAPA SAWIT

    The effect of oil palm ash on strong press and water rates in the mortar has been investigated. The characteristics of oil palm ash mortar materials were analyzed physically and mechanically. The oil palm ash on the mortar consists of some variations of compositions, 0%, 7%, 14%, 21%, 28% and 35% from weight of cement, with a cubeshape test object size of 5 × 5 × 5 cm, done at test object for 28 days, the tool used in the compressive strength mortar testing is Material Equipment Testing (MET). Based on the results obtained, the highest hardness values is 3,15 × 107 N/m2 with palm ash variation 0% and 2,33 × 107 N/m2 the lowest hardness value with 35% ash variations. The highest water rate in normal mortar (0% oil palm ash) is 5,72% and at variation of compositions 7% to 35%, the water rates are 6,36% - 12,62%. The result of mortar hardness measured decreased while the water rate increased with the addition of palm ash.

    PENENTUAN EFISIENSI DARI ALAT PENGERING SURYA TIPE KABINET BERPENUTUP KACA

    The efficiency of enclose glass cabinet solar dryer has been determined experimentally. Solar dryer is composed of main protector box component an insulator absorber plate and a cover transparent. The colector used the enclose glass plane plat collector. Data was collected within 14 days starting from 09.00 AM until 3.00 PM with one hour time interval. This experiment was done by placing the solar dryer on the collector surface perpendicular to solar radiation, and then measured the beam radiation intensity, absorption, transmitivity and efficiency of solar collector by using a lux meter and mercury thermometer. The value of average efficiency for solar dryer type glass enclosed cabinet is from 30,47 % until 56,13 %. This shows that the efficiency value relies on radiation achieved to the collector

    PENENTUAN MASSA MOLAR BEBERAPA JENIS LOGAM MENGGUNAKAN HUKUM DULONG-PETIT

    The research about molar mass of some metals using calorimeter and Dulong-Petit’s law has been done. The metals used are Aluminium, Iron, Brass and Copper organized in a cubic form with mass of 2.79 g, 7.51 g, 8.38 g and 8.63 g respectively. The measurement of the heat capacity of calorimeter was conducted first as many as 7 times in order to include in the specific heat capacity. The specific heat capacity measurement of the metals was conducted first as many as 10 times for each metal. Molar mass of metals is then calculated using the specific heat capacity and law of Dulong-Petit. Research data shows that the temperature change of the water in calorimeter decreases overtime until it reaches the equilibrium while the temperature change of the metal and water mixture in the calorimeter increases overtime until it reaches the equilibrium temperature. Heat capacity of calorimeter measured is 67.35 J/0C. Specific heat capacities for metals Aluminium, Iron, Brass and Copper are 0.90 J/g0C, 0.47 J/g0C, 0.39 J/g0C and 0.38 J/g0C respectively. Calculation of the molar mass using the specific heat capacity and the law of Dulong-Petit are 27.96 g/mol, 53.53 g/mol, 64.54 g/mol and 66.40 g/mol respectively. Compared to the mass molar metal written on the Chemical Periodic Table, these discrepancies were found of 3.63% for Aluminium, 4.15% for Iron, and 1.58% for Copper.

    PENENTUAN SEBARAN LINDI DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE GEOLISTRIK KONFIGURASI WENNER DAN UJI GEOKIMIA DI TPA MUARA FAJAR

    The process of determining the leachate distribution at Muara Fajar Final Disposal, Rumbai, Pekanbaru has been carried out using geoelectric methods of the Wenner rule and the Geochemical test. This study aims to determine the distribution of the leachate and analyze the quality of leachate. Measurements were made on two tracks, each track was 100 meters long. Based on the results of data processing, it is known that the leachate distribution layer on track 1 has a depth of 2.25 – 7.46 meters below the surface with a resistivity value of 0.729 – 4.38 Ωm. The leachate distribution layer on track 2 has a depth of 2.25 – 5.56 meters below the surface with a resistivity value of 1.82 – 10.2 Ωm. The distribution of leachate found from the result of interpretation is not evenly distributed on each track. The quality parameters of leachate in Muara Fajar Final Disposal such as pH has a values ranging from 5.29 to 8.30 and concentration of heavy metals Cadmium has a value < 0.0031 Mg/L, Lead < 0.0017 Mg/L. This values are still met the leachate standard parameters. Based on the standard parameter of clean water where its pH is 4, while the quality of the residents' wells pH is 5.29, meaning that it is more acidic and is not suitable for human consumption and for Lead < 0.0017 Mg/L and Cadmium < 0.0031 Mg/L still in accordance with clean water standard parameters.
