    KAJIAN METODE PENCUCIAN DENGAN FREKUENSI BERBEDA PADA KOLAM BUDIDAYA IKAN NILA DI RAWA PASANG SURUT

    One of Tilapia culture problem development is water quality. The effort to solve the problem is apply leaching method that the replacement of water with new water by utilizing the mechanism of the tides. The aim of this research was to determinethe effect ofleaching methodwithdifferent frequencyon water quality, survivalandgrowthof tilapia. This research was held sinceJanuary until April2015in Muliasari village, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera.The research method usedT-testwith4 treatmentsand3replications is P0 without leaching, P1 with ones leaching, P2 with twice leaching and P3 with third leaching. The result showed that the highest treatments was P2 with the value of water quality is temperature 26-30oC, salinity 0 mg.L-1,brightness 15-75 cm, dissolved iron 0.06-0.15 mg.L-1, sulfat 8.75-160.6 mg.L-1, dissolved oxygen 3.64-5.92 mg.L-1, pH 3.0-5.8, mg.L-1 and ammonia 0.4-0.22 mg.L-1. The best survival rate was 81.67 % and the highest growth with the weight was 9.95 g and length was 4.29cm. Based on the results, treatment with twice leaching can be applied to maintenance water quality and increace thilapia growth and survival rate in tidal lowland.
