    IDENTIFIKASI METODE PENANGKAPAN IKAN KURAU DI DESA TELUK PAMBANG KECAMATAN BANTAN KABUPATEN BENGKALIS PROVINSI RIAU

    The study was conducted on July 03-13, 2012 in Teluk Pambang Village Bantan District Bengkalis Regency of Riau Province. The purpose of this study was soul to determine the effective method for catching Kurau fish. The effective where method in based on indicator as the indicated such as size of caught fish, how the fish caught by net, fish behavior, and number of catches of each fishing method and beside to investigate whether those methods is ecofriendly or not refer to FAO 1995 regulation. Gill net and mini long line can caught kurau fish, gill net caught much more fishes than mini long line as gill net method block the fish schoal movement whereas the mini long line depead on alfaction organ of fish in find the bait position as influence of the currents. The size of bait can influence the alluring of fish to bite. Based on FAO 1995 regulation that longline fishing gear and gill net can be concluded as the environmentally friendly fishing gears.
