UJI ANTIOKSIDAN DARI EKSTRAK TUMBUHAN PAKU TANDUK RUSA (Platycerium bifurcatum)
(Elfitra, 2023-06) Yunita, Silvia Rahma; Hendra, Rudi
Platycerium bifurcatum is an epiphytic plant that belongs to the Polypodiaceae family. Other species such as P. superbum, P. stemaria have been reported as potential sources of antioxidants, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anticancer, but information and research on the potential bioactivity of P. bifurcatum is still very limited and rare. This research aims to determine the antioxidant extract of P.bifurcatum. The method used in the isolation process is the maceration method with methanol solvent then partitioned with n-hexane, dicloromethane, and ethyl acetate. Antioxidant assay results with 1,1- diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method obtained with AAI value in aqueous extract (4.7), ethyl acetate extract (1.6) n-hexane extract (0.2) and dichloromethane extract (0.3). The conclusion of the research according to the AAI value obtained is that the water extract has very strong antioxidant activity, the ethyl acetate extract has moderate antioxidant activity, and the n-hexane and dichloromethane extracts were classified with weak antioxidant activity.
