Abstract
This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve learning outcomes IPS
fourth grade students of SDN 42 duri barat Mandau district. This research was
conducted in March 2013. Research subjects were fourth grade students of SDN 42 Duri
Barat Mandau district with totaling 40 people. Student learning outcomes were
categorized as low as 67.87 due to the weakness of teachers in classroom management
and delivering course material with the lecture method alone. Formulation of the
problem in this study is whether the application of cooperative learning kancing
gemerincing type can improve student learning outcomes ips fourth grade students of
SDN 42 Duri Barat Mandau didtrict. This study consisted of two cycles, with research
instruments include learning devices (silabus, lesson plans, worksheets, achievement test
sheets, activity sheets teacher observation and student. Learning outcomes in this study
increased by 9,03% from baseline score 67,87 to 74 at UHI. On learning outcomes UHII
increased to 79,80. Improved learning outcomes at UHI to UHII by 7,83%. Of this study
it can be concluded that the application of cooperative model kancing gemerincing type
can improve learning outcomes IPS fourth grade student of SDN 42 Duri Barat
