Abstract
The research was aimed at finding out the quality of the written test on the junior
high school level se-Riau Physics Olympiad in 2013 qualitatively analyzed by
material analysis, construction, and language. The quantitative analysis through
the distribution of test item based on the cognitive domain, distracters, omit,
difficulty index, discrimination power, validity item and reliability of the test. The
writer used descriptive method. The collected data was by using documentary
technique of the test item specification, the fifty test items of the test and the 242
pieces of answer sheet. The sample was 143 test takers taken from sample
determination table developed by Issac and Michael as the error level was 5%.
The writer used random sampling to choose the sample. The result of research
showed that the based on the test items qualitative analysis, there were 41 test
items (82%) were categorized good and 9 test items (18%) were categorized poor.
The qualitative test items analysis showed that the test items were categorized
poor, due to result of test score in which there were two variables in the difficulty
index and discrimination power were categorized very poor and one validity test
item variable was categorized valid
