Abstract

The title of the research is “The Effect of Group Guidance Service to Increase Student Attitudes and Habits of the Low academic achievement in SMA N 12 Pekanbaru”. Research purposes were: 1) To know the difference in students' attitudes and habits before given group guidance services. 2) To know the differences in attitudes and habits the students after given groups guidance service. 3) To know the differences in attitudes and habits of students before and after a given group guidance service. Research method used quasi experiment method. Subject was 22 students which had the bad learning habits. Data collecting technique in this research was used questionnaires. The result of this research shown that the Students who have low attitudes and habits in the academic achievement could be increased by using group guidance service. This was looked from data analyzing. Before giving the Group Guidance Service the average score of the students just 46, 68, it means that more than 50% of the students still have low Attitudes and Habits in academic achievement. But after the researcher given the treatment by using Group Guidance Service, the Student Attitudes and Habits of the Low academic achievement could increase, it could see from the average score was 74,95. It means that more than 80% of the students could increase their Attitudes and Habits of the Low academic achievement. Result of the research shown that thitung = 18.85 > t tabel = 2,000, so that Ho was be rejected and Ha was received. It means that the student Attitudes and Habits of the Low academic achievement could be increased by using group guidance service
