| dc.description.abstract | Basic education plays acrucial role in uplifting disadvantage areas from the grip of poverty. The efforts of developing basic education have reached significant stages at Riau Province althought they have not met the targeted Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) by the year 2015. These evidenced from the facts taht there were about 5,1% (SD/MI) and 27,7% (SLTP/MTs) childern aged 7-12 years old respectively who did not get primary education. Although the percentage is small at SD/MI level, it is quite high at SLTP/MTs. In order to achieve the targets of Riau Province MDGs, the expanding of Distance learning systems based on ICT are a promosing option to deliver education to childern who have access, espectially in districts. Riau Educational reforms are driven by the change in the society which include information systems and communications. To meet the Riau MDGs, localgoverments and other external agencies nedd to play a role encouraging, supporting, catalyzing and lagitimating the Riau Distance Education Road Map. We proposed to adopt the Current ICT Appoaches to develop Distance Learning Enfrastructure in Riau Province by bridging a e-notwork between UPBJJ Pekanbaru-Riau University Global Distance Learning Network (GDLN-Unri)-INHERENT Unri’s ICT Board. | en_US |
