dc.description.abstractStomatal and epidermal characteristic play important role in taxonomical works of ferns. The purpose of this study was to compare the stomata and epidermis characteristics of two Nephrolepis species collected from Pekanbaru, Riau, namely Nephrolepis biserrata and Nephrolepis cordifolia. Samples were collected from the field using the exploration method. Stomata preparations were made using the replica method. Characteristics of stomata and epidermis that distinguish between two nephrolepis species were the type, the shape and size, the number and distribution of stomata, as well as the shape of epidermal cells.en_US
