Abstract
Acute Respiratory Infection is an acute infection involving the upper respiratory tract
organs and lower respiratory tract. This infection is caused by viruses, fungi and
bacteria. Based on data in the Public Health Center Of Tembilahan City obtained
pneumonia cases in 2015 as many as 423 toddler, whereas in 2017 as many as 104
toodler. The purpose was the knowing relationship between indoor air pollution, home
ventilation, birth weight, nutrional status and immunisation status with incidence of
acute respiratory infection in toddler in the Public Health Center Of Tembilahan City
Year 2018. This research analytic observational with research a case control. The
study population were all Acute Respiratory Infection patients amounted to 164
toddler with a sample of 113 cases and 113 controls. Sampling technique is cluster
sampling. The analysis used bivariate analysis with chi square test. Have
relationship between indoor air pollution (P value = 0,024 OR = 1,902), home
ventilation (P value = 0,009 OR = 2,141), birth weight (P value = 0,031 OR = 2,391)
and immunisation status (P value = 0,014 OR = 2,162) with icidence of acute
respiratory infection in toddler in the Public Health Center Of Tembilahan City Year
2018. It is suggested to the Public Health Center Of Tembilahan City to surveilance of
incidence of acute respiratory infection continuosly, check the dust at each house,
and encourage people to pay attention to the air, equate people to participate in giving
complete basic immunisatition in all babies, encourage people to make home
ventillation that meets healthy home requirments and do counseling once a month
