Abstract
Pawnshop is one of the non-bank financial institution whose main activities are providing
funding (funding) for the general public, for the purpose of consumption, production, and
various other purposes.
This study authors did in Dumai City Riau Province. The purpose of this study to
determine the factors that cause demand Pawnshop pawn in Dumai city by pawning goods
Pawnshop. The population in this study is perum pawnshop customers in 2011 as many as 396
customers .. The sample used in this study were as many as 80 people. Analysis of the data used
in this research is to use a descriptive method to describe the object that describes the research
that is owned in its entirety.
From this research the factors that cause people more interested in getting money by
pawning goods in Dumai City Pawnshop is the interest rate, the interest rate is not burdensome
customers value as a factor in the customer makes Pawnshop pawn. Lending procedures,
lending procedures as a factor in the value of the customer to lien because the procedure is
simple and does not take a long time. and the collateral, the collateral that secure assessed as a
factor in the customer makes Pawnshop pawn
