Abstract
This study aims to improve the ability of Creative Dance on 92 third-grade
students of SDN Pekanbaru school year 2011/2012 through the application of
creative methods to improve the ability of creative dance class III students of SDN
92 Pekanbaru study was conducted in April-May 2012. The subjects were 92
third-grade students of SDN Pekanbaru, amounting to 32 students consisting of
17 male students and 15 female students. This Research a Classroom Action
Research, which consists of 2 cycles. I cycle consists of 2 meetings and the second
cycle comprised of 2 meetings. The research instrument consisted of learning
devices (syllabi, lesson plans, learning outcomes test sheets and sheets of teacher
observation and student activities). The data were analyzed descriptively. The
results showed that by increasing the activity of teachers and students at each
meeting. Teacher activity increased from an average percentage of 69% in the
first cycle to 91% in the second cycle. While the percentage of student activity
increased from an average of 68% in the first cycle to 85% in the second cycle.
Capability creation dance students also increased, from an average baseline
value of approximately 49.92 category with 12.5% completeness percentage
increased to an average of 59.68 categories with the percentage of completeness
59.38% in the first cycle and on average 78 , 12 categories with a percentage of
87.51% in the second cycle
