dc.description.abstractThe study was based on the results of their reading skills intrinsic elements of folklore fifth grade SD Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru first semester 2012/2013 only 50% were completed in the classical style. Formulation of the research problem is this type of cooperative learning model application Numbered Heads Together can improve reading skills intrinsic element of class V student of folklore Pekanbaru? The purpose of this research is to improve the reading skills of the intrinsic elements of folklore with implementing cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together. Reading skills intrinsic elements of folklore derived from preliminary data completeness is 68.75 with 50% or (10 students) who completed the scoring at least 70 according with the KKM. After implemented cooperative learning model first UH Numbered Heads Together first cycle, the average values obtained with completeness 75.75 or 75% (15 students). UH second cycle increased by an average of 82.5, or completeness 85% (17 students). Activities teachers first cycle 62.5% first meeting, a second meeting increased to 68.75%. Furthermore, at the first meeting of the second cycle 81.25%, an increase in the second meeting to be 87.5%. Student activity cycle 50% I first meeting, a second meeting increased to 62.5%. Furthermore, at the first meeting of the second cycle 75%, increase in the second meeting that is 81.25%. Because of that the hypothesis raised by the research, "If implemented cooperative learning model types Numbered Heads Together it hopes will improve reading skills intrinsic element of class V student of folklore Pekanbaru," is accepted.en_US
