dc.description.abstractThe knowlaedge of the use of bamboo in general population of rural communities still plays an important role due its benefits for commmuniti on has benefits, for a part of the life of ecological, economic as sosial cultural sroles. The purpose of this research was to know the spesies bamboo diversity and its potensial utilization in the community of Rupat Island. The metod used exploration method which include survey and semistruktured interview. The obtained data on the types of bamboo. The interview result show to potensial of bamboo in this Island, based. Thysostachys siaminensis is a spesies of bamboo that is widely used by the people of Rupat Island, because it has good character and is directly proportional to the results of bamboo exprloration on Rupat Islanden_US
