Abstract
The research aims to improve students mathematics learning outcomes
by implementing cooperative learning model of Student Teams Achievement
Division (STAD) type at class of V SDN 007 Bukit Kemuning Sub District of
Tapung Hulu, in even semester of academic year 2012/2013. The subject studied
total 25 students of 13 male students and 12 female students. The research is a
form of classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles
consisting of the first cycle and second cycle each of the three sesions and one-time test. The data of students activity learning outcomes were gained by
collecting activity data by using observation sheet and test. Analysis of the data
used descriptive statistical analysis that describes the activities of the teacher and
students, analysis of learning outcomes and successful measurements. The result
of analysis found that the percentage of student who achieve mastery minimum
criteria (≥ 60) was 84% and the second cycle was 100%. Which increased the
percentage of the previous measures 16%. The conclusion of this study indicate
that cooperative learning models of type STAD can improve student’s mathematic
learning outcomes.
