dc.description.abstractThis article discusses the three ratio estimators for population mean in simple random sampling by using the auxiliary variable of the quartiles, proposed by Subramani and Kumarapandiyan. These three discussed estimators are biased estimators. The mean square errors of the discussed estimators are compared to obtain the most efficient estimator. The comparison shows that the ratio estimator by using inter-quartile range is the most efficient estimator than the other two estimators. A numerical example is given to explain the discussed problem.en_US
