Abstract

Nephrolepis hirsutula is one of epiphytic ferns belonging to Nephrolepidaceae family. The purpose of this study was to characterize the stomatal morphology of Nephrolepis hirsutula collected fom Panca Surya Garden Ltd. Kampar Riau. The sampling was carried out using the exploration method. The stomata preparation were made using replication method. The results showed that Nephrolepis hirsutula had a hypostomatic type with kidney-shaped, 42,93 ± 3,02 μm long and 25,91 ± 3,05 μm wide. The stomata were uniformly distributed on the abaxial surface. The combined stomata types were the polocytic and pseudopolocytic with 2 and 3 irregular neighbor cells.
