Abstract
Urea is toxic in blood. Increased level of urea in blood is one indicator of renal disfunction, one of which is caused by urolithiasis. Urolithiasis treatment with surgery and high-power laser is expensive and has high risk of re-formed kidney stones, so many people turn to use alternative medicine such as herbal medicine. Pelawan (Tristaniopsis obovata R.Br) is one of the plants that have good effectiveness in disintegration of kidney stones. This study was conducted using Complete Random Design (CRD), composed of 3 treatments with 3 replications: (P0) control group, (P1) which was given inducer consisted of ethylene glycol 0.75% and ammonium chloride 0.2%, (P2) which was given inducer and extract of pelawan leaf dose 100 mg/kg. Data were analyzed by ANOVA. The results showed extract of pelawan leaf with a dose of 100 mg/kg body weight did not differ significantly (α> 0.05), but it was able to reduce level of urea from (P1) 45,04mg/dl to (P2) 23,46 mg/dl.
